Sadiyyah Muhammad, MSW, is a trained social worker specializing in community partnerships. She received her Bachelor and Master of Social Work from Georgia State University, class of 2021. She also completed two study-abroad programs: a service-learning assignment in the Dominican Republic, where she taught English and learned about the nation’s history, culture, and sociopolitical climate; and a project in South Africa, where she gained insight into the country’s business and economic systems.
Sadiyyah is trained to facilitate conversations around racial equity in school, business, and nonprofit settings and has supported children with learning differences. During her master’s program, she connected with lactation, maternal, and child health leaders. Her interest in data analysis and program evaluation peaked during her last semester, when she connected with Dr. Kimberley Broomfield-Massey at Reaching Our Sisters Everywhere (ROSE).
Sadiyyah brings her passion for working with community-based and family-centered organizations to UMC, doing qualitative data collection and data analysis. This includes facilitating interviews and focus groups, coding qualitative data, and writing reports. She prides herself on the ethics and best practices of the social work field, highlighting the importance of relationships, cultural competency, and strengths-based approaches.
Sadiyyah enjoys traveling, learning about different cultures and healing practices, hiking, watching drama and crime TV, and tackling the occasional DIY project.
