Kimberley Broomfield-Massey, Ph.D., is an experienced evaluator and researcher specializing in participatory methods, quantitative and qualitative research, and facilitation.
Dr. Broomfield-Massey completed her doctoral work in community psychology focused on program evaluation at Georgia State University. She is passionate about youth development, and perinatal and child health, and strives to empower BIPOC populations to promote health equity.
Kimberley founded Urban Metrics Consultants in 2010 to bridge the gap between the community and academia. For over two decades, her unique approach to evaluation has dismantled hierarchy, disrupted traditional exchanges of power, and fostered bidirectional relationships that fuel true impact.
Dr. Broomfield-Massey has established genuine partnerships with clients to help them gain federal and private funding, develop and implement programs, and analyze data. Her goal is to deliver on the organization's needs while meeting and exceeding its funders’ goals and expectations.
Her experience involves partnering with local, regional, and national nonprofit organizations, such as the Center for Black Women’s Wellness (CBWW), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Reaching Our Sisters Everywhere (ROSE), United States Breastfeeding Committee (USBC), and Usher’s New Look.
Dr. Broomfield-Massey leverages her journey as an African American woman and a first-generation U.S. citizen to ensure all evaluation procedures respect the values and diversity of the community. More than an evaluator, she is a storyteller and caretaker, skilled at translating complex ideas into clear messages and creating safe spaces for clients, stakeholders, and evaluation participants. Clients trust Kimberley to listen and respond to their unique needs, holding them accountable and sharing laughs along the way.
When Kimberley is not working with her clients, she enjoys building LEGOs with her son and spending time with family and friends.
